How to Register to Vote

According to the Pennsylvania Department of State:

Once you know you are eligible to vote, the next step is to register. In Pennsylvania, a new online application makes registering to vote easier than ever before. You can also register in person, by mail and at various government agencies. Below you will find information about how to register, as well as links to voting registration forms and applications. If you have questions, check our voter registration F​AQs.

Register to Vote Online

You can register to vote through the Pennsylvania Department of State’s online application. Before you begin, be sure to have your Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID card handy. If you don’t have one, there are other options. Once you submit your online application, it will be forwarded to the appropriate county voter registration office for processing.

Key Registration Deadlines for this Campaign

The last day to register for the primary is April 16. The primary is on May 15. In order to be able to vote for me in the primary, you must be a registered Democrat; Republican, Independent, or other voters are not able to vote in the Democratic primary.

The last day to register before the general election is October 9. The election is on November 6.
