During On The Mark, the WKOK radio show hosted by Mark Lawrence in Sunbury, Marc Friedenberg confronted his opponent’s endorsement by a radical political group that wants to destroy Social Security as we know it. Friedenberg called on Keller to refuse the Club for Growth’s endorsement and return the campaign donations he’s received as a show of good faith to voters.

The Club for Growth is a political action committee (PAC) funded by extremely wealthy families and corporate executives who want to eliminate the social safety net system of nearly 85 years. During the debate, Keller refused to address the issue and did not respond to Friedenberg’s call.

“The Club for Growth promotes a radical agenda that will destroy Social Security, a hallmark of American life for almost 85 years,” said Claire Gray. “Hard working Americans have paid into Social Security throughout their careers. To pull the rug out from under the feet of retirees, at the behest of right wing fringe groups shows exactly who Fred Keller wants to work for in Washington. He must reject the Club for Growth’s endorsement, return the money, and commit to saving Social Security without raising the retirement age or reducing benefits.”
