Marc Friedenberg, Congressional candidate for the 12th District, praised the $2 trillion infrastructure deal agreed to this afternoon by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and President Donald Trump at the White House.
Citing the need to re-certify the levees in Williamsport, lack of broadband access, and poor rural roads that are hampering first responders, Friedenberg called on all parties to complete the negotiations quickly and “start building.” He also called for the creation of an infrastructure bank to create a stable source of funding for infrastructure projects going forward.
“While the devil is in the details, the $2 trillion agreement could transform our district,” said Marc Friedenberg. “The Williamsport levee is a prime example of a much needed infrastructure investment. The levee must undergo construction to meet new requirements for recertification. Until that time, insurance companies are taking advantage of businesses and residents by raising their coverage rates. Projects like this are investments in the economic health of the district by reducing costs and increasing the safety of the community. I will make this deal my number one priority and urge its completion.”
The Special Election for the 12th Congressional District will take place May 21, 2019. You may find Marc’s platform and upcoming events at https://marcforpa.com/.
